Third
grade works together to learn about mixtures. In this experiment, we are using
birdseed as our mixture.
·
Mixtures are formed
when two or more materials are combined.
·
The observable
properties of materials may stay the same even when materials are mixed
together.
·
Mixtures can be
separated based on the properties of the individual materials.
·
Examples of mixtures
include gravel and sand and metal and plastic paper clips.
·
The materials of
mixtures may be visible as when sand is mixed in water.
·
The materials of
mixtures may not be visible as when sugar is mixed in water.
